Just like Straw Hat pirates.. this is also a group of good pirates.
Shanks always wears a long black cape over his shoulders and, until he met Luffy, he wore a straw hat obtained from his captain.
Shanks is one of the most laid back characters in the world of One Piece, preferring to take his time as he and his crew travels around the world rather than rushing from one place to another. His friendly nature means he will not purposely seek to harm others, and he is able to make serious characters like Dracule Mihawk join in with his fun. Yet despite how simple minded he appears at first, Shanks is a complex person with some rather difficult to understand views.
He lost his hand while saving Luffy from a sea monster. At that time luffy was just a child. Shanks saw the potential of luffy and provided him his most valuable straw hat which he inheritted from his captain Gol D. Roger.
Red Hair Pirates under the captaincy of Shanks is one of the strongest pirate crew in the new world. They are ne of the four emperors of the sea. The pirate crew also have a great snipper Yasopp who is the father of Ussop (sniper of Straw hat pirates).
It was Shank who came in the end to finally put an end to the fight between Whitebeard Pirates and Marines in Marineford. He inspired Luffy to become a pirate.
