After Trebol's unsuccessful self-destructive move to kill Law, It was Doflamingo who tried to kill Trafalgar Law. When he tried to kill Law, Luffy attacked Doflamingo with his Hawk whip move. Nico Robin caught Law safely while Cavendish blocked Doflamingo's attack. Doflamingo wanted to kill surgeon of Death any how. But for Doflamingo, Luffy was in his way and for Luffy Doflamingo was in his way between his friend and him. Luffy was too much angry on Doflamingo. It was him and his executives due to which his crew members and his friends suffered a lot. Luffy words "I WONT LET ANYONE DIE" was so much powerful that even Doflamingo got scared. Luffy was ready to give whatever he had to defeat Doflamingo. On the other side, Law wanted to see complete battle, so he refused to run against the will of Luffy. Law was thinking, It was because of him, Luffy was fighting with Doflamingo so it would be bad if he will run. So he told, Cavendish to leave him at a little far distance from battle ground so that, If Luffy wins, he can see that and if Luffy die, He should die next then. These two pirates, Luffy and Law are quite different from other pirates. They care about pride, rather than life and plunder.

After all these things, there came the most mysterious thing in the whole manga. A special attack which no one was expecting. GEAR FOURTH. Yes after gear three, Its gear fourth now. It looked like Luffy was in a real hurry to pack things quickly. It was going to be a night mare for Doflamingo as Luffy overcame all his boundaries
